Help for Members Impacted by Tornadoes and Severe Weather in MissouriMay 31, 2019
We’re taking steps to help our members and emergency personnel impacted by tornadoes and severe weather in Missouri.
If you live in the counties of Barton, Clay, Cole, Jasper or Miller, here’s what you should know:
- Your policy won’t be canceled due to nonpayment of premium from May 29, 2019 through June 29, 2019.
- You will not be penalized for any late payments during this period.
- If you have an Anthem prescription drug plan you can get up to a 30-day emergency refill of your medications at any pharmacy now. This also applies to emergency personnel who have been activated by their state and local agency, but who do not reside in Missouri.
- You can get emergency or urgent care services by doctors and hospitals, even if they’re not in your plan network — and claims will be paid as if they’re in your network.
Relaxed guidelines are in effect from May 29 through June 29, 2019 for impacted members in Missouri. They apply to members with Anthem group or individual and family health plans. They do not apply to Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan members, Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage, Specialty and any fully insured trust funds - these programs have their own specific guidelines.
