Help for Members Impacted by Hurricane Isaias

August 04, 2020
Your ability to find and receive care when you need it is even more important during a crisis. We are here to help. Between July 31, 2020, and August 30, 2020, we are making a change for members who live in Virginia and North Carolina after Hurricane Isaias.

If you need prescription refills
  • If your Anthem plan covers your prescription medications, you can receive up to a 30-day emergency refill at any pharmacy now, even if it is not in your plan’s network.
  • If you use Anthem’s mail-order pharmacy and your address changed because of Hurricane Isaias, call us at the number on your ID card so we can make sure your medicine goes to the right place.
If you need additional support
  • Anthem's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help with stressful situations and money or legal concerns. EAP is part of your plan and does not cost you extra. Call the EAP crisis line at 1-877-208-8240. It's open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
These relaxed guidelines are in effect from July 31, 2020, through August 30, 2020, for members in Virginia and North Carolina. This time period may change based on the conditions. Please check back here for updates.

Relaxed guidelines are for members with Anthem group health plans through their employers, or Anthem individual and family plans. They are not for Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, or Medicare Part D plans. They have their own guidelines.

If you need additional support, please call us at the number on your ID card.
